On a Gloomy Day

Sharing a trio of images shot prior to a pending storm. I had a brief moment to get out today while running errands, and found three different subjects to compose. I chose the K20D for the tool to use, and set it up a black and white infrared filter/blue toning filter combination in camera. These images are direct from the camera. All were made with the 50-200mm f/4-f/5.6 WR telephoto lens with the same settings and display very different moods. Pentax K20D 14.6MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction (Body Only)
Lone White Mallard, ISO 640, f/6.3. This mallard lies in stark contrast to the lake and dark sky creating a mood around it that is dark and bleak. I accentuated this mood by using just the right exposure to allow the mallard and reflection to stand out as the center of attraction. A simple suggestive mood piece here.
Funnel Spider Web with Raindrops, ISO 640, f/6.3. This is more of a macro piece but I wanted to incorporate more of the surroundings into the composition. The attraction is the detail which makes up an almost abstract pattern base.

Very interesting mood, going with the blue-tone monochrome. A fine choice from an artist who thinks ahead.
Gracious comments, appreciated. I like to experiment, its a hit and miss thing.

Thank you Tammy. By chance which image was your favorite?
