Sold my Sony A6000 set-up and with the money I manage to buy a Fujifilm X-M1, 16-50, 50-230, Yongnuo YN-560 TX Trigger, 2x Yongnuo YN-660 Flash and Fujifilm X30. To my suprise, I find it that the Fujifilm X30 ismore than enough for my type of Photography (Small Prints, Street, Cityscapes and Landscapes) and even on Portraits where I will pair it with my Yongnuo Flashes and Trigger (Manual). X-M1 has better color and more pixel of course but I enjoy more my Photography with the X30...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-10406889218337694352016-02-12T20:21:26.686-08:002016-02-12T20:21:26.686-08:00thanks for the awesome review! looking forward to ...thanks for the awesome review! looking forward to part II :) avieeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04963219777165545153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-27563892338697579222016-01-14T01:06:08.476-08:002016-01-14T01:06:08.476-08:00Thanks for a real world review. I have the X30, which I find provides so much in its little package by giving different options for creativity. bunkajinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071854596476086910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-49353094329586798712015-08-15T04:57:02.373-07:002015-08-15T04:57:02.373-07:00Wonderful review. I try to keep it at ISO 400 or lower, but 800 is certainly usable.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-85400862675138269232015-06-10T08:05:46.796-07:002015-06-10T08:05:46.796-07:00It's nice to read a reviewer with some common ...It's nice to read a reviewer with some common sense! I.e. cameras like the X30 serve a different role than a MILC. Even compared to other compacts like the LX100 and RX100III, the X30 has a lot going for it. The point of a compact is to give you flexibility in a small, unobtrusive package. The X30s combination of sharpness, zoom range, built-in flash, and excellent EVF really make it a competitir and a great value.M DeNerohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09016268021995866545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-41153425833225204912015-06-04T16:02:41.029-07:002015-06-04T16:02:41.029-07:00Hi Carl,

What is important and key- is to consider a cameras role first and foremost. If your needs are for a compacts set up- then I'm afraid the A6000 falls short when compared to the X30 when you go to make a lens choice. As soon as you try to match the X30's bright lens for sharpness, range, and such- there are major issues in trying to duplicate a compact package. I'll save you the suspense- you can't match it with the A6000.

That said if you don't care about a compact package, then your choices are vast in terms of lenses when you consider all brands who make lenses for the A6000.

This is really an apples to oranges comparsion. The appeal of "serious compacts" is the value you get in an overall package- optical quality especially. The appeal of an interchangeable lens camera- is obviously better sensor quality and versatility with lenses- at a much steeper price.Carl Garrardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01561256121516104816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6938824791812834583.post-78092490135855566222015-05-10T06:37:31.756-07:002015-05-10T06:37:31.756-07:00Hi Carl,
Thank you for the review.
What can you ...Hi Carl,

Thank you for the review.

What can you say about this camera vs Sony a6000?

I am looking for a compact everyday and travel camera as complement to my A77.

I want the Fuji because it is cheaper, it has good retro looks, all in one package and I won't be tempted to buy and splurge more on lenses.
But I am a little hesitant because of the 2/3in sensor.

The a6000 seems more practical and many people were recommending it over x30.

Hoping for your response and looking forward for part 2.

Regards,
AdrianAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05949765439850677680noreply@blogger.com
